Joint events

By participating in our presential joint-Weeks, students will acquire soft skills, aligned with IMAgein Learning Objectives, which will be crucial in their career development. They will also be able to share experiences between different tracks and promotions and develop their international scientific and personal networks.

Summer week: This week gathers students at 3 different stages:
  1. In the Kick-off bootcamp new students will meet the consortium partners, researchers, administrative staff, other colleagues and receive courses on fundamental concepts required to successfully tackle a Master Programme on the biology of ageing. It was jointly designed to include lecturers from all partners, a Gender Agenda and discussions on inclusiveness.
  2. In parallel, Students ending the 1st year (S2) will experience a full week of Outreach Activities animated by staff from all partners addressing transversal disciplines as diverse as presented: science diplomacy, science policy, diversity, leadership, computational science and role play.
  3.  The students ending the 2nd year, and therefore the IMAgein Joint programme, will present a deliverable from their research project with societal impact Delivering Innovation. Students will be asked to adapt their speech to the general public, as this ceremony will be open to the community. A jury composed by stakeholders and private companies' representatives will vote to select the three best deliverables, which will be subject of publication in ageing-related scientific journals. This will allow students to have actual impact with their academic work, reward their involvement and bring visibility to both IMAgein and its best students, thus contributing to IMAgein Joint programme dissemination exploitation and sustainability. This final step will allow the students to obtain the Diploma Supplement besides the multiple master diplomas. Summer joint meetings will systematically happen in the coordinating HEI of the Consortium: Université Côte d’Azur.

Winter week: After the first semester (S1) students will participate in:
  1. The Translational Ageing week, in which IMAgein students and stakeholders from different European countries will participate in round tables and seminars.
  2. In the same week, students from the 2nd year ending the third semester (S3) will be challenged to enroll in the Winter LabIdea. Briefly, students will be asked to brainstorm in order to foster creative thinking to define how their final master project could be translated into innovation with societal impact. Another activity will be designed in the form of a “Scientific Hackathon”, as a time-limited event where students will work in teams to generate ideas, develop prototypes, and present their solutions to a panel of judges. Scientific hackathons aim to bring together different perspectives to create new innovations and solve complex problems in a fast-paced, collaborative, and interdisciplinary environment. The scientific problem to be resolved will be determined by the Consortium partners in collaboration with other stakeholders.
