Course outline

The IMAgein curriculum relies on the mutualization of teaching modules already certified in the partner's local master programs on biology, namely:
  • Master Sciences du Vivant (Université Côte d’Azur)
  • Master of Science in Genetics and Biology of Aging and Regeneration (University of Cologne), (NB: this is the future name for the Ageing track of the accredited M.Sc. Biological Sciences, see letter in the proof of accreditation documents for details).
  • Master Sciences, Technologies, Santé, Mention Biologie intégrative et physiologie (Sorbonne Université)
  • Master in Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology (University of Seville)
  • Master of Biomedical Research (University of Seville)
  • Master´s degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology (University of Coimbra)
The first-year compulsory pedagogic offer was defined as a broad knowledge based on the Biology of Ageing, while offering specific local expertise. The second year reflects even more the specialization strengths of each Consortium partner with important investment into fundamental or applied research projects through the Master Thesis internship. Optional modules will contribute to the originality of each student’s track-record. Details on each year semester curriculum and modules mutualized in IMAgein at each partner are provided in section 3 in this document.

The fourth semester (S4) won’t be detailed as it always consists of a Master Thesis project that can be performed in any partner institution’s laboratory or welcoming structure validated by the IMAgein Board. These welcoming structures have to be validated by the IMAgein Board prior to internship start and may be public or private institutions, companies or associations.

All IMAgein curricula include a compulsory mobility between two different countries where at least one semester corresponding to 30 ECTS needs to be validated. IMAgein mobility program will therefore be structured into two blocks of one year each. Details on the content of these blocks for each partner are presented in the Syllabus.
