The MemBioMed consortium identified stakeholders that can play a crucial role in enriching the educational experience, providing additional resources, and enhancing the programme's global perspective. Those partners come from various sectors hereafter detailed:
The European Biophysical Society (EBSA), the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO), the Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS), the European Federation of Biotechnology (EFB),the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS), the American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB), the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB), the German Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (GBM), the biophysical society (BPS), the Society for Neuroscience (SFN) and the French Ion Channel Association, the Italian Society for Neuroscience, the Federation of European Physiological Societies (FEPS), the International Union of Physiological Societies (IUPS), the Italian Physiological Society (SIF).
Strong partnerships have been developed between the three partners University and local, national and international companies in the biotechnology, medical technology and big pharma sectors.
The program's three partner universities each have partnerships with over a hundred other universities in Europe and around the world. These inter-university partnerships can take different forms, depending on the specific objectives and areas of cooperation (exchange programs, collaboration, university networks, strategic partnerships, etc.). UniCA has developed partnerships with 317 Higher Education Institutions and research establishments in 68 countries (70 agreements in Chemistry and Life Sciences). UniCA and UniGe are part of Ulysseus, one of 50 European universities selected by the European Commission to become the universities of the future. UniGe has 167 agreements of academic cooperation with foreign Universities in 54 countries worldwide and 13 partnerships with networks, associations and international organisations. UOS belongs to an international network that fosters inter-university collaboration and signed cooperation contracts with over 120 universities all across the world.
At UniCA, academic teams are part of the University Hospital Federation FHU INOVPAIN. UniGe and the associated IIT have research agreements with the IRCCS, Ospedale Policlinico San Martino, and Genoa in the fields of molecular and cellular neuroscience and oncology.
