Erasmus Mundus imAGEin organises its first Summer School!

The Erasmus Mundus imAGEin programme will hold its first Summer School from 31 August to 4 September 2026 in Antibes.

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master imAGEin – Biology of Ageing is launching its first Summer School, an intensive academic event dedicated to students from the 2025-2027 cohort. The week is designed to provide an in-depth learning experience in the biology of ageing, enabling students to deepen their scientific knowledge, develop their skills and engage with researchers and experts in the field.

Held in Antibes, this first edition will bring together students from the 2025-2027 cohort, as well as lecturers, researchers and members of the programme’s coordination team from the five partner universities: : Université Côte d’Azur, Universidade de CoimbraUniversity of CologneUniversidad de Sevilla and Sciences Sorbonne Université.

The scientific programme, running from Monday 31 August to Wednesday 2 September, will feature a rich combination of scientific lectures, student presentations, discussions, round tables and opportunities for exchange. Several symposia will explore different aspects of the biology of ageing, including genome stability and ageing, cellular mechanisms of ageing and longevity, cellular mechanisms underlying age-related diseases, and brain ageing. Round tables will also focus on molecular biomarkers of ageing and the translational perspectives of ageing research.

Students will also have the opportunity to present the results of their first research experience, exchange with researchers from different disciplines, and meet key players in innovation and the ageing biology ecosystem. These different formats will support learning and scientific skills development while helping students build their international professional networks.

From Wednesday afternoon onwards, the event will gradually transition into the Welcome Week for the new 2026-2028 cohort. The two cohorts will then come together for several joint activities, giving the new students the opportunity to meet their predecessors, benefit from their experience and gain first-hand insight into the different stages of the imAGEin journey through their testimonials.

This first Summer School represents a major milestone in the academic life of the programme, bringing together scientific excellence, training, international mobility and exchange within the European imAGEin community.

We look forward to welcoming students, researchers and members of the imAGEin network to Antibes for this first edition.
